I work during the day and go to school at night. My job requires 24hr remote access and I quickly tired of carrying around a 15" laptop along with my books. The first netbooks I came across piqued my interest but had received dismal reviews from fellow students. I'm so happy I waited for the Samsung NC10 and am fully satisfied!! I immediately upgraded to 2GB of RAM and installation was super easy. The screen is crisp and clear, and WIFI connection works flawlessy. It even picked up signal from a location where my full-size laptop cannot. I downloaded Cisco VPN and am able to remote into my work network faster than with my laptop. I was also able to download office from the Microsoft website without incident. Battery life is great and I can leave my charger at home. The keyboard is nearly full-size with all the keys in the right place - took zero time to adjust.
Overall, the Samsung NC10 is a fast, hard-working machine wrapped in a sleek, light-weight, package. The pink is softer than it appears in pictures and keeps it from looking cartoonish (prefer this shade over my pink Dell).
