I have been using this laptop now for 4 weeks and I am extremely happy with the performance, portability and wonderful battery life (6 to 8 hours). Like most products, you need to know your need/use before buying. As your only laptop, perhaps you don't want this or any other netbook for that matter but as a second/companion pc, it's perfect and certainly the best of all the netbooks presently on the market. Throw in to 2G memory upgrade and you are really flying through your applications. I ran vista on it for 2 weeks without a glitch! Now, I've been running Windows 7 on it for 1 week and it's even outperformed both xp and vista. Had a week to test drive the NC10 Black before writing this review. The best thing going for it (besides the price!) is how not frustrating it is to use!

Display: The 10" screen and 1024x600 resolution is perfect for viewing websites without any horizontal scrolling, as with smaller netbooks. Set the browser to full screen (F11) and it's a beautiful thing. Easy Fn Up\Down Arrow adjusts the brightness of the display, accompanied by a slick on-screen indicator. Screen is non-glossy. Finally.

Keyboard: Better touch-type response than my desktop keyboard. Layout works well and took little effort to adapt to it. (Home and End are now Fn keys, which is a little annoying, but a minor quibble.) No give at all when resting wrists and typing. Solid. Generally dislike all trackpads and disabled the NC10 pad on day one, so cannot comment on it's useability.

Connectivity: Wireless G card, hits 54Mbps every time, works well. Wireless N would have been nice, but with a little technical savvy you can replace the internal G mini pcie card with wireless N quite inexpensively. Bluetooth is solid, paired to a set of external speakers - which is a good idea as the speakers on the NC10 are fairly weak. USB to Logitech Wireless VX Nano Notebook Mouse is nice.

Performance: XP runs well, virtually no noise from the 160GB hard drive. Fan is extremely quiet. While running MS Office Home and Student and Firefox web browser and the occasional Media Player tunes, ran just fine with the standard 1GB RAM. Updating the 2GB was a no-brainer though, given how cheap RAM is lately and how easy the NC10 makes it to upgrade (one screw and you're done). Battery life is indeed 7+ hours, give or take depending on the screen brightness and other power settings. Nice. No bloatware - comes with 2 partitions, XP on C: and a D: partition for another OS or data\backup.
