I have been looking for a netbook for about a year now, and after watching the reviews and prices for a long time I finally pulled the trigger on the NC-10 at a little under $400. I could not be happier! Excellent build quality, very good battery life (I'm guessing 5.5-6.5 hours, with brightness turned up to level that's very readable in sunlight), and the performance running XP Pro is better than I expected (I did upgrade to 2GB memory). I think the size is a perfect balance between portability and usability. I really have no complaints, other than I wish I had gotten it sooner. Outstanding! I researched several notebook models and went with the one Consumer Reports recommended. This unit is compact, fast, and quite capable of performing the needs of this user. I loaded Office 2007 and the excel and word products work well. You should minimize the task bar to get more of the viewable screen.
